On a quick downhill curve on River Road in the Town of Florence…
Published September 4, 2014 / by seallessOn a quick downhill curve on River Road in the Town of Florence you spy the arch of an old stone bridge. Someone keeps the path over the creek mowed past a sign that says “Graves Cemetery”. A hike up a hill makes you think that somebody made this a bit too inconvenient for the bereaved and the bereft. At the top there are still some stones in good shape, an obelisk on its side, a marker in the corner, “Daniel Polly – Caroline LeRoy – His Wife”. And then over in the trees between the boneyard and a field a shadow catches your eye.
He was probably coming back for it later.
